Introduction
AuthorAID in the Eastern Mediterranean (AAEM) is a volunteer-driven initiative established in the late 2000s by Karen Shashok, a freelance translator and editorial consultant in Granada, Spain, and Dr. Farhad Handjani, a dermatologist and editor at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran. AAEM aims to support researchers in Eastern Mediterranean countries by providing manuscript editing and training in research writing, thereby enhancing their ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.
